OKCs Immersive Art Experience

There are not enough words to describe OKC’s newest adventure.

Think Willy Wonka, Science Museum, and giant jungle gym all rolled into one experience.

This is Factory Obscura’s Mix Tape.

From the moment you walk up to the door, you are greeted with interactive art outside featuring a giant boombox.  Press the button…dance….and repeat!

Every aspect of the inside is utilized with immersive art, all 6000 square feet of it!

Entry is gonna cost ya: $15/adult $12/kids 4-12, and free for kids 3 and under.

This was a little pricier than I would like seeing as we were only there for about an hour.  However, the experience is meant to be slow paced, and community driven.  So go and take your time, experience all the details and sit and talk to others there to fully get the experience.

It was just Bug and I as we went to experience the Mix Tape.  So we ran from room to room with child-like glee seeing all the colors, feeling all the textures, and climbing, crawling, and exploring all the little nooks and passages.

We did purchase some of the fun holographic glasses that they have for sale in the gift shop for $1 each.  We just bought the one pair and Bug used them most the time, but I tried them out.  The effects were very pretty and fun!

This was the first time that Bug had ever experienced anything like this and she was just so giddy the whole time.  She loved every aspect of it all.  Her favorite part was the slide in the back room.  It was a little nerve-wrecking at first but it left her feeling exhilarated after successfully making her way down the daunting slide.

Overall, it was quite the experience.  One that my Bug will not forget, and that made the $$ worth it.  I cant wait to see whats to come at Factory Obscura.

So if you are looking for a great Fall Break experience to go with the kiddos to I highly recommend you take some time out of your day, and go with some friends to check out the Mix Tape.  They do not disappoint!

They are also putting on, whats sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience, a special Halloween event that!  More info on that here.

After you visit the Mix Tape, be sure to go up the road and stop by Capitals for some Ice Cream.

Bug got their Night Time Snack mix!  It was particularly yummy!

Will you go and check it out?  Come back here and tell me what you thought of it!  What was your favorite part?
