Homeade Caramel Popcorn

homemade caramel popcorn

Who doesn’t love homemade caramel popcorn? You can easily make this with just a few basic baking ingredients. And its ready in just 15 mins!

I love making this for homeade gifts and for all the holiday parties. Perfect for any get together really!

You can make this by popping your own popcorn or starting with a bag of popcorn, just use a simply salted popcorn instead of buttered. The biggest key in this treat is the prepping of the caramel sauce. The last picture shows the consitstency of the sauce when its ready to be removed from heat and add in the baking soda, vanilla, and salt.

*Caramel Popcorn*

Popcorn (bagged or freshly popped)
1/2 C Butter
1/4 C Corn Syrup
1 C Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda

In pot, melt butter and mix brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Let simmer, undistrubed for 5 minutes. Then stir every 30 seconds while cooking for an additional 4 minutes. Remove from heat and add in vanilla, salt and baking soda; whisking together quickly. Pour over popcorn and stir to cover. Place on parchment paper to harden. Break pieces apart and enjoy!
